No Labor in Vain by Teri Johnson
“We do NOT labor in vain”
Today on this Labor Day; 9/3/12, as I'm awakening to this new day: I'm drinking my strong coffee. Coffee is my wake-up drink & always reminds me of the awakening of revival. And I'm being reminded that the reward of a beautiful baby always outweighs the pains of labor. As I had my "wake-up-coffee-date" with Holy Spirit, I contemplated a few of the scriptures about: labor, waking up & revival.
4 Encouraging Things
1. As we labor in Him, our labor is NOT in vain.
Isa 65:23 “They shall not labor in vain, nor bring forth for trouble; for they [are] the seed of the blessed of the LORD, and their offspring with them.”
1Cr 15:58 “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.”
2. Labor & Rest are two words that seem to directly oppose each other.
However, they really compliment & go together like; soup & sandwich or peanut butter & jelly or nuts & bolts. When some are pregnant & very close to giving birth, even pickles & icecream sound good together!
Hbr 4:11 “Let us labor therefore to enter into that rest ….”
Mat 11:28 “Come unto me, all [ye] that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
3. In these days we living in; it now is the time, more than ever to press into God.
Matthew 9: 37-38
37 “Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly [is] plenteous, but the laborers [are] few. 38 Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth laborers into his harvest.”
4. We have great promises from our Loving Father that he will revive us.
God's promises cause us to awaken to who we are in Him & who He is in us.
Isa 57:15 “For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name [is] Holy; I dwell in the high and holy [place], with him also [that is] of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.”
Psa 17:15 “As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness.”
I'm so grateful for this day that the Lord has made & the times that we are living & moving & having our being in HIM. Pour me another cup of coffee & add some sweetener & cream:
Oh how very sweet & rich it is to be awakened by HIM!
Be encouraged Bride of Christ & receive the Kiss of our Bridegroom Jesus as He awakens us & as Our Heavenly Father sends us out to awaken a lost & hurting world with the power of our sweet abiding Holy Spirit. Like American Express we can not leave home without Him & like Espresso, God has us on a very strong & fast-track to advance the Gospel of His Kingdom!
